My Community - Latin America: Announces the launch of eleven new radio shows

April 2, 2006 - PCI-Media Impact is excited to announce the launch of eleven new radio shows this spring. These include 4 shows in Guatemala, 4 in Mexico, and one each in Honduras, the Dominican Republic and Peru.

Each show focuses on different topics and issues, with most addressing issues of sexual and reproductive health, family planning and women's empowerment. Others touch on the topics of adolescent education, environmental conservation and access to heath care. These mixed format radio shows, include a serial drama, a call-in segment and discussions with local experts. Click here for a complete listing of these new shows.

These shows are the result of PCI-Media Impact's new Latin American initiative called "My Community" which builds on PCI-Media Impact's relationship with partners and partner organizations throughout Mexico and Central and South America to produce social change communications strategies using radio and entertainment education. For more information about My Community - Latin America, click here.

PCI-Media Impact teaches local coalitions, including combinations of NGOs, service providers, radio broadcasters and local government ministries, how to use radio to support various issue-based campaigns and programs that target their communities.
