Advocacy – Encouraging Positive Use of Media

Starting in 1994, PCI-Media Impact has hosted a series of Summits bringing together media professionals – actors, producers and writers – to meet with health professionals, international development specialists and philanthropists on a variety of topics. The aim of these gatherings is to bring a heighten awareness of the importance and power media and the creative community play in shaping attitudes and behavior in this country.

Our Summits covered many health and social topics over the years including: assisted fertility, death and dying, diabetes, diversity, population, minority issues, sexually transmitted diseases, teenage sexuality, teenage suicide, teenage tobacco use, and violence against women.
